Combination of desalination plant with gas turbine, heat recovery boiler and steam turbine

The difference with the previous scenario is the addition of a steam turbine after the heat recovery boiler. The steam turbine generates additional power and provides vapour of approximately 3 bara to the desalination plant.

Typically power-to-water ratios are in the range of 15:1, i.e. an electrical production of 1,500 MW for 100 MIGD (450 000m³/day) of fresh water produced.
