Less projects, larger projects
With more than 250 projects successfully delivered since the beginning of the 1960's, Sidem is a leading contractor in the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of thermal desalination plants around the world.
Sidem has supplied capacity in excess of 4,000,000 m3/day, of which 75% represents units based on the multi-effect distillation technology.
In the past years Sidem has been awarded large to very large projects in the frame of Independent Water & Power Production (IWPP) projects: Al Hidd - Bahrain (60 MIGD), Marafiq Saudi Arabia (809,000 m3/day), Fujairah II (130 MIGD), Ras Laffan C Qatar (63 MIGD).
In addition, Sidem is very active in Libya. The Abutaraba project is a good example of the extent of Sidem's scope of work and supply in this country.
