A consortium made up of Sidem (the Leader) and Beijing CNC Water Technology Co. Ltd. (CNC) was awarded a contract in January 2007 for the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of 2 desalination units of 12,500 m3/day each (25,000 cubic meters in total) in the frame of the Shougang project. Sidem's scope is limited to the engineering, procurement, supply and start-up and commissioning assistance of the 2 units whereas CNC will be in charge of all site works.
The client is China Shougang International Trade & Engineering Corporation on behalf of Shougang Jingtang United Iron & Steel Co. Ltd.
The plant is based on the MED-TVC process and is scheduled for completion in 2008.
