AL DUR 2 seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) plant in Bahrain has been recently started and is now online .

It consists of two independent production lines constructed in two phases which total 227,300 m3/day. The first one, with half the total capacity, was delivered in November 2020.

Both production lines are identical and benefit from a technical innovation from SIDEM, [a Dual Media Pressure Filter (DMPF) combined with cartridge filters](http://www.sidem-desalination.com/Process/r-and-d/4/) allowing for a smaller footprint. This innovation has been in operation at the Sur desalination plant in Oman since 2016.
